Robert Chiti - Las Vegas Powerhouse

Mateo Magazine:  Please give us a little background about yourself.
Robert Chiti:  I was born and raised in Toronto, Canada, one of the most multi-cultural cities in the world.  I was exposed to different cultures growing up, and it gave me an appreciation for diversity.  My first and only work experience in Toronto was in the restaurant/hospitality industry for over eight years.  I knew at a young age that the hospitality industry would be a big part of my future.

MM:  How did you end up in Vegas?
RC:  After graduating from college in Toronto, I wanted to further my education in the hospitality industry.  A close relative, who lived in Las Vegas, suggested to my family and I that UNLV would be a great fit for me as it offered one of the best hospitality programs in the United States.

Kaori Nagao - Angelika Boutique Concierge

Kaori Nagao is definitely a force to reckon with.  After growing up in Japan and graduating from an international school in Yokohama, she made the move to study abroad and landed in sunny California.  While doing her undergraduate at University of Riverside, and finishing off with her pre MBA program at University of California Los Angeles, Kaori was introduced into the world of promoting and marketing.  After helping out with numerous events, and Hollywood parties from Sunset to Santa Monica, she was ready to take the next step.

In 2004, Kaori created Angelika Promotions.  With her "ready to take on the world" personality, she set her sites on the mecca of nightlife, and entertainment capital, Las Vegas.  Kaori said, "I packed up my Acura and drove to Vegas.”  The most challenging aspect of her career was the lifestyle differences from not only Japan to Las Vegas, but from Los Angeles to Las Vegas as well.  She states, "Everything in Las Vegas is 24/7, it's a transient city, people come and go, and building relationships is hard.  Three months they are here, three months they are gone."  The key to Kaori's success is no different then the most successful people in the world; hard work, passion, and determination.

With over 30 representatives across the world, Angelika Promotions, now known as Angelika Boutique Concierge, is your one stop shop for all your Vegas needs.

The Luxor in Vegas

I remember the first time driving to Las Vegas from Los Angeles, my body was overwhelmed with excitement.  There was so much buildup for this trip from the countless stories that my friends had told me.  As we drove for about 3 hours through the cold, dark desert, I noticed a light cutting directly towards the sky.  The beaming spotlight belonged to the pyramid-shaped hotel and casino, The Luxor Las Vegas.  As you enter the driveway, you are in awe of the mammoth recreation of the Great Sphinx of Giza.  This pyramid reaches a height of 350 feet, and is one of the most distinct structures in the city with more than 4,000 rooms.  With over 120,000 sq, ft. of gaming, and two unforgettable nightclubs, LAX and the CatHouse, the fun never stops at the Luxor.
