A new challenger has stepped up in the music gaming arena. Seven45 Studios has developed a game coming this fall on Xbox 360 and PS3 called Power Gig: Rise of the Sixstring. Even though this game comes with the usual microphone, guitar, and drum, Powergig will stand out from the other band games because of its new gear. This game comes with an actual 6-string guitar that may be played on the game but will also be able to be plugged into an amp. There is also a mode in the game where you are able to play almost like actual chords on a regular guitar within the game. The drums in this game will also be different. There will not be physical drums but more of an air drum type of thing going on. You will get a pair of AirStrike Drumsticks and there will be a sensor on the floor. This will take away from all the loud noises you would get from banging on the drums, so that now, only the pure sound of the game will come out of your speakers. As a guitar player myself, I think I would have to try out this new experience for myself, wouldn’t you?

Skate 3, another great product from EA Games, will test your skills while enabling you to show off your moves and express yourself. Skate, first introduced in 2007, allowed players to operate game movements with the use of analog sticks. And it is this same feature that permits different combinations that will help you to pull off some gnarly tricks in this latest version of the game. Skate 3 will feature many new gameplay options, including Hardcore mode, Create-a-Park, 1-Up, Domination, and Own the Lot.
In Hardcore mode, it will be harder to pull off tricks, because the game will force you to perform tricks at a lower elevation. Within Create-a-Park, you will be able to utilize your own creative skills in designing your own skate park with huge ramps or your own plaza. 1-Up, Domination, and Own the Lot are multiplayer gameplay modes in which you will be able to play in teams.
