Abu was born in Philidelphia and raised in Southern California.  His talent was recognized at an early age when his first kindergarten art project was featured in the local newspaper.  Ever since then, he has been expressing himself artistically.

He is a master of several different genres of art such as BMX free-styling, photography, hip hop dancing and furniture design.  He is currently focusing on leather accessories and apparel.  Being a self taught artist, Abu’s mass media and external influences do not dictate what he chooses to create.  Each piece is hand-signed with his signature letter "A", ensuring that it is an original Abu piece.

Through his work, Abu aspires to restore integrity and dexterity to fine American artisanship, which is currently lost to big businesses and overseas mass production.  Abu Original embraces the concept of a person's uniqueness and originality.
