A makeup artist’s secret weapon - blush. The easiest and cheapest way to look younger and have a more youthful glow is by using it. Blush is the one beauty product that looks great at any age and on any complexion. If you want to look like you’re blushing without the over made up look, why not try a cream or gel blush. It melts into the skin instead of resting on top like the powder form can. If you’re oily then a light powder on top will set it; if not than just the cream will do. If all you have is that old pink lipstick at the bottom of your makeup bag… use it! The darker the skin tone the deeper the pigment, you want to re-create the effect of blood flow to the cheeks beneath the skin. The correct cheek color should make you look as though you’re actually blushing- not wearing makeup. To get a natural makeup look you can start the application by smudging a well sharpened brown bronze eyeliner pencil around the top and bottom lash line then adding some jet black mascara. Pick a cream blush color that you can wear that doesn’t wear you. Proceed to blend, blend, blend. The Cheek color should be lightly dabbed on the apples of your cheek or in the hollows of the cheeks for a contoured effect. The apples of the cheeks will give you the young, fresh appearance that we all need. A light tinted moisturizing foundation or just concealer alone is fine and finally add that glossy lip gloss and you’re good to go. After a long hiatus… Blush is back!
